Origin

Phileine comes from a very strong dressage family and without a doubt also comes from one of the best mother lines in the Netherlands. Just like her uncle and two-time World Champion Kjento, she is also a direct descendant of the preferred top sire Negro, who is himself a son of the equally preferred top sire Ferro. Her uncle Kjento and rider Charlotte Fry already became world champions for the six-year-olds in 2021, but were also declared FEI World Champions for the 7-year-old dressage horses. As a young, super talented stallion, Kjento was already named KWPN Dressage Horse of the Year in 2022!

Phileine's father Negro has had a successful career himself. The stallion won the KWPN Stallion Competition with Anne van Olst in the saddle at both the ages of 5 and 6. Negro's specific qualities, including a lot of strength, impulsion and balance, switching technique, a good back and a powerful hind leg, are not only passed on to his sons and grandsons. but he also seems to especially and emphatically pass on these qualities directly to his daughters and granddaughters.

Negro grandson Glamourdale won the gold medal in a masterly way with Charlotte Fry during the World Dressage Championships in Herning. The 2013 Pavo Cup winner, the well-known Everdale, also has Negro in his mother line.

Negro is also the father of Valegro, one of the most successful dressage horses ever. Valegro and the British rider Charlotte Dujardin achieved double Olympic gold in London 2012, Olympic gold in Rio de Janeiro 2016, European champion in 2013, KWPN horse of the year in 2014 and managed to improve the world record of top sire Totilas (by Gribaldi) to 94.30% in the freestyle. We are also looking forward with great interest to the recently designated KWPN stallion One Million, who carries Negro blood in his mother line and let us not forget the Pavo Cup winner & performance champion Jameson RS2.

Phileine's mother Habiana V.O.D. and half-sister of World Champion Kjento was sold in February 2022 after a long bidding duel between buyers from different countries to a German buyer. He or she (?) paid 44,000 euros for the mare in foal of Desperado. The father of Phileine's mother is the keur stallion Bretton Woods (Johnson x De Niro), who won the VSN trophy with Emmelie Scholtens as a 4-year-old, as well as reserve champion of the PAVO Cup and also KWPN dressage performance champion in 2010. In 2011, Bretton Woods won the bronze medal at the World Championships for 5-year-old dressage horses. Bretton Woods is bred from the Oldenburg mare Annabel. She carries the predicates Elite and Preferent. This Oldenburg mare had the highest breeding value at the KWPN in 2006 and 2007 and is also the mother of the KWPN-approved stallion Chagall (by Jazz). Bretton Woods' father is number 1 in the 2023 WBFSH rankings. In 2020, Johnson already took first place in this World Ranking, and was also number 1 in the HorseTelex rankings.

Both Kjento and Phileine share the same blood not only through their father Negro but also through the Elite, Preferente and Prestatie mare Zoriana, the mother of Habiana V.O.D. This daughter of the -again preferent- Jazz was third at the National Mare Inspection as a three-year-old then managed to achieve the top score of 90 points for her IBOP with a 10 for her phenomenal trot. In addition to Kjento, Zoriana (=Phileine's grandmother) also produced the KWPN-approved stallion Mowgli V.O.D. with Desperado as father. Mowgli V.O.D. was one of the six prime stallions of the KWPN Stallion Inspection 2020. During the 2023 KWPN Stallion Inspection, another family member Iana V.O.D., half-sister of Phileine's mother and also - like Phileine herself - Negro as father, her son Purple Rain by Desperado on her list as an approved breeding stallion of the KWPN. Purple Rain has also been approved by Hannover.

Zoriana also produced the 2015 NMK champion, namely the three-year-old dressage mare Heliana V.O.D. and she is the mother of the 2021 NMK champion Niana V.O.D. from -again- Desperado. The half-sister of Phileine's mother HELIANA V.O.D. in turn produced the Danish approved Lance V.O.D., a son of Glamourdale.

Zoriana's mother Poriana is a daughter of Juventus and has the predicates Elite, Preferent, IBOP-dr and PROK. The third mother Koriana (by Rubinstein I) is Keur, Preferent and Sport-dr and also produced various sport horses. Koriana produced three Small Tour horses and from this line also the Grand Prix horse Zaragoza.

Phileine is therefore a very strong asset to our breeding.

In 2023, Phileine participated in a KWPN studbook inspection and was also declared STAR.
Phileine is a descendant of Mare line 127, breeding family 84.

Foals

2024

We expect Phileine's 1st foal at the beginning of May 2024. Phileine is in foal of Desperado (Vivaldi x Havidoff).

In 2012, Desperado won the Pavo CUP as a 4-year-old and in 2013 he came second among the five-year-olds. That year he also competed at the World Championships for Young Dressage Horses in Verden and came seventh in the final. He received a 10 and the highest score for his trot! He won the KWPN STALLION COMPETITION three winters in a row.

After his Grand Prix debut in 2018, Desperado rocketed to the absolute top. In 2019 he was part of the Dutch team that won silver at the European Championships in Rotterdam. In 2020, DESPERADO managed to win the bronze medal during the National Championships in Ermelo In September 2021, Emmelie Scholtens and Desperado N.O.P won the CDI4* GRAND PRIX FREESTYLE in CHIO Aachen with 83.110%.

Desperado's father Vivaldi is now considered one of the world's best sires.

Desperado offspring Niana V.O.D, as well as Phileine's aunt, was the best out of 740 dressage mares and became champion mare during the NMK in Ermelo in 2021.

And let us not forget the recent news that during the 2023 KWPN Stallion Inspection, another family member Iana V.O.D., and half-sister of Phileine's mother, also with - just like Phileine herself - Negro as father, her son Purple Rain by Desperado was added to her list as an approved breeding stallion of the KWPN. Purple Rain, now jointly owned by Van Uytert and Blue Hors, will therefore have almost an identical pedigree as our first foal by Phileine. Also the bloodline of the BWP approved stallion Jack Sparrow D.E. (Desperado x Negro) will be very similar to the bloodline of our first foal from Phileine: a Desperado x Negro x Bretton woods x Jazz.

Also Phileine's mother herself Habiana V.O.D. provided another Desperado son in 2021, namely Retro. Apparently, Desperado, in combination with this excellent mother and performance line, produces great offspring and dressage horses. And who knows, Phileine may also become the mother of a beautiful and special first foal. We are really looking forward to it!
